What is Auto Fib?

Auto Fib draws Fibonacci levels on the leg that matters most in a structure-based read, the impulse that broke structure. For an upward break the leg runs from the swing low the move came from to the first confirmed swing high after the break, and the mirror for a downward break.

It carries three tools in one script, each with its own toggle. The Retracement ladder is on by default. The Extension, which projects the leg from its pullback, and OTE, the Optimal Trade Entry band, are off until you turn them on. All three read the same leg, so their levels agree with each other.

This is a closed-source premium script. It runs on Altrady's servers, so only its output reaches your chart and its code is not published.

Components

Auto Fib combines 3 tools in one script. Each one has its own switch in the settings.

  • Auto Fib Retracement. A ladder of levels inside the leg that broke structure, from its extreme at 0 back to its origin at 1, with the leg drawn as a diagonal. On by default.
  • Auto Fib Extension. The leg's length projected forward from the pullback that followed it, with the three points lettered A, B and C. Off by default.
  • OTE (Optimal Trade Entry). The 0.62 to 0.79 retracement of the leg as one shaded band with its 0.705 sweet spot, and an event when price first closes inside it. Off by default.

How to use Auto Fib

  • Retracement levels. After an up break, price pulling back into the 0.5 to 0.786 area of the leg is where many traders look for the move to resume. A pullback that goes through the origin cancels the leg.
  • The OTE band. The band between 0.62 and 0.79 of the leg, with a 0.705 line inside it, is the ICT Optimal Trade Entry zone. The first close inside it is marked as an event.
  • Extension targets. Once the pullback after the leg is confirmed, the Extension projects the leg's length from that pullback. The 1 level is a measured move, a second leg as long as the first.
  • Two legs at once. Max Legs keeps two ladders by default, so the current leg can be read against the one before it.

SettingDefaultRangeWhat it changes
Show RetracementOn Auto Fib Retracement: the levels inside the leg that broke structure, from its extreme (0) back to its origin (1).
Show ExtensionOff Auto Fib Extension: the leg's length projected forward from the pullback that followed it (A/B/C), where the move reaches if it travels that far again.
Show OTEOff OTE (Optimal Trade Entry): the 0.62 to 0.79 retracement of the leg drawn as one band with its 0.705 sweet spot, and an event when price first closes inside it.

Structure

SettingDefaultRangeWhat it changes
TimeframeChart Chart, 15m, 30m, 1h, 4h, 1DRead the leg from a higher timeframe while trading a lower one. The chart's own period must divide it exactly.
Swing Length5 1 or moreBars either side of a pivot. It is also the tool's lag: the leg's extreme is a confirmed swing, so a fib or band appears this many bars after the extreme happened, and then never moves. The Extension pays it twice, for B and for C. See the header for why that trade was taken.
Significance (ATR x)1.5 0 to 10A swing is ignored unless the leg into it covered this much ATR. ATR rather than a percentage so it transfers between instruments.
Break OnClose Close, WickWhat counts as breaking structure (§4.3). Close is the suite's default and the stricter reading.
Keep InvalidatedOff By default a ladder or band is removed once price closes beyond the leg's origin, and a projection once price closes back through C, because each then describes a move that is over. Turn this on to leave them in place. They then keep their slot too, since they are still on the chart.

Retracement

SettingDefaultRangeWhat it changes
Levels0, 0.236, 0.382, 0.5, 0.618, 0.786, 1 The ratios, comma separated. 0 sits at the leg's extreme and 1 at its origin, so the list runs from the end of the move back to its start. Anything unparseable is skipped; the first 16 are used.
Max Legs2 1 to 10How many ladders stay on the chart. The oldest is removed past this. Two is enough to see the current leg against the one before it.
Show LegOn The impulse leg itself, origin to extreme, as a diagonal.
Up Leg #089981 A leg that broke structure upward; its levels are retraced from above.
Down Leg #f23645 A leg that broke structure downward.
Leg #787b86 The diagonal.

Extension

SettingDefaultRangeWhat it changes
Extension Levels0.618, 1, 1.272, 1.618, 2, 2.618 The ratios of the A-to-B distance, projected from C, comma separated. 1.0 is the measured move (a second leg as long as the first) and is the most quoted target in the family. Anything unparseable is skipped; the first 16 are used.
Extension Max Setups2 1 to 10How many projections stay on the chart. The oldest is removed past this.
Extension Show A/B/COn The two legs of the pattern as diagonals, with the three points lettered.
Extension Up Projection #089981 A leg that broke structure upward; the projection reaches above B.
Extension Down Projection #f23645 A leg that broke structure downward.
Extension A/B/C #787b86 The two diagonals and the three letters.

OTE

SettingDefaultRangeWhat it changes
OTE Band Start0.62 0 to 1The shallow edge, as a retracement of the leg. 0.62 is the published ICT figure rather than 0.618. See the header on why the rounded pair ships.
OTE Band End0.79 0 to 1The deep edge. 0.79 rather than 0.786, for the same reason.
OTE Show Sweet SpotOn The line inside the band at the ratio below.
OTE Sweet Spot0.705 0 to 1Quoted as 0.705, which is the midpoint of the default band. It is an input and not a computed midpoint so that moving the edges does not silently move it.
OTE Max Zones3 1 to 50How many bands stay on the chart. A band that is erased gives its slot back, so this counts only what is drawn.
OTE Show BandOn The zone itself.
OTE Show LabelOn The "OTE" caption on the band.
OTE Show BorderOn
OTE Bullish OTE #089981 A band on an up leg: price retracing down into it is the long entry.
OTE Bearish OTE #f23645 A band on a down leg.
OTE Label #b0b3b8

Extend RightOn Run lines and bands to the right edge. With this off a ladder spans the leg only, and a projection or band stops at the bar it was made on: tidier on a busy chart and harder to trade off.

Show State PaneOff A sub-pane per component that is on: live ladders and the newest's direction (FIB); live projections and the phase, which is waiting for a leg, waiting for its C, or projected (FX); live bands and whether price is inside the newest (OTE). Each pulses on its events. The tool's internal state, and what the automated checks read.

How it works

The script follows market structure from confirmed swings, filtering out swings whose leg did not cover enough of the average true range. When a bar breaks structure, on a close by default or a wick if you choose, the swing the move came from becomes the origin. The leg is complete once the next confirmed swing on the breaking side appears, and that is when the levels are drawn.

Waiting for that confirmed swing means the levels appear a few bars after the extreme, but they never slide afterwards. Many automatic fib tools anchor to the running extreme and redraw every bar, so a level read at one price is somewhere else by the time price arrives. Auto Fib does not.

A retracement ladder and an OTE band end when price closes beyond the leg's origin, since the leg is then fully retraced. An extension ends when price closes back through its pullback point C. Price trading through a level such as 0.618 does not end anything; that is the level doing its job.

Limitations

  • Confirmation lag. The leg's end is a confirmed swing, so levels appear Swing Length bars after the extreme. The Extension waits twice, once for the end of the leg and once for the pullback.
  • Only structure-breaking legs. A strong move that does not break a prior swing gets no fib. This is deliberate, but it means some legs you would draw by hand are skipped.
  • The pullback must stay inside the leg. The Extension only projects when the first opposite swing after the leg sits between its start and end. A pullback beyond the origin produces no projection.
  • Levels are not reversals. A Fibonacci level marks where traders watch, not where price must turn.
  • Higher timeframes need a matching chart. When reading the leg from a higher timeframe, the chart's own period must divide it exactly.

Frequently asked questions

The impulse that broke structure. Its origin is the swing the move came from, and its end is the first confirmed swing on the breaking side after the break.

No. It waits for the leg's end to be a confirmed swing before drawing, so the levels never move once on the chart. The cost is a delay of Swing Length bars.

Because the published ICT definition uses the rounded pair. Both edges and the 0.705 sweet spot are settings you can change.

Seven, grouped by component. Retracement: fib_anchored and fib_invalidated. Extension: fibext_projected and fibext_invalidated. OTE: ote_formed, ote_entered when price first closes inside the band, and ote_invalidated. A component that is switched off fires no alerts.

Yes. Auto Fib is a closed-source premium script. It runs on Altrady's servers, so only its output reaches your chart and the code is never shared. You buy it once in the Altrady marketplace, on its own, in the Fibonacci & Gann bundle or in the Altrady Complete Suite, and it needs a paid Altrady plan to run. It is also included with your first annual Premium subscription.

Use the Get it in Altrady button on this page to open its listing in the Altrady marketplace. Once it is in your account, open the indicator picker on any chart in Altrady Charts and add Auto Fib like any other indicator. Turn the Extension and OTE on in its settings panel.
