What is Fib Time Zones?
Fib Time Zones measures how many bars passed between the last two alternating swings and uses that as a unit. It then draws vertical lines at 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 and 34 units after the first swing. Each line carries its multiple as a label.
It is the only tool in the Fibonacci family that says nothing about price. Every other one answers "at what level"; this one answers "at roughly which bar". The lines are neutral grey because a time zone makes no directional claim.
This is a closed-source premium script. It runs on Altrady's servers, so only its output reaches your chart and its code is not published.
How to use Fib Time Zones
- Zones as attention points. Traders watch the bars near a zone for a swing high or low to form. A turn that lands on a zone is read as the market keeping its rhythm.
- Zones in a cluster. When zones from two sets land close to each other, that area of time gets more attention.
- Zones with price levels. Time zones are most often combined with a price tool, such as Auto Fib, to look for a level reached near a zone.
- No direction. A zone says when something might happen, not what. A swing high and a swing low near a zone count equally.
Settings
Swings
| Setting | Default | Range | What it changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Timeframe | Chart | Chart, 15m, 30m, 1h, 4h, 1D | Read the zones from a higher timeframe while trading a lower one. The chart's own period must divide it exactly. The unit is then counted in bars of THAT timeframe. |
| Swing Length | 5 | 1 or more | Bars either side of a pivot. Raising it is the real fix for sets being superseded before their far zones arrive: fewer, bigger legs mean anchors that last. |
| Significance (ATR x) | 1.5 | 0 to 10 | A swing is ignored unless the leg into it covered this much ATR. |
Zones
| Setting | Default | Range | What it changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sequence | 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 | The multiples of the unit, comma separated, the Fibonacci numbers by default. Zone 1 lands on the second anchor by definition, since one unit from the first anchor IS the second. Whole numbers are expected; anything unparseable is skipped and the first 16 are used. | |
| Max Sets | 2 | 1 to 5 | How many anchor pairs keep their zones on the chart. More than one because a set is usually superseded long before its far zones arrive. A set that is erased gives its slot back. |
Display
| Setting | Default | Range | What it changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Show Zones | On | The vertical lines. | |
| Show Labels | On | The multiple printed on each line. | |
| Line Style | Dashed | Solid, Dashed, Dotted | |
| Label Size | Tiny | Tiny, Small, Normal, Large, Huge | |
| Show State Pane | Off | A sub-pane counting live sets and the current unit in bars, pulsing on each new set. The tool's internal state, and what the automated checks read. |
Colours
| Setting | Default | Range | What it changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zone | #787b86 | The vertical lines. Neutral on purpose: a time zone makes no directional claim. |

How it works
The script tracks confirmed swings, ignoring those whose leg did not cover enough of the average true range. The newest two alternating swings define the unit, counted in bars rather than in clock time. On markets that stop overnight or at weekends, the zones skip those gaps because the bars do.
A zone that falls on a bar that already exists is drawn at that bar's own time, so it is exact. A zone beyond the last bar is placed by carrying the latest bar spacing forward, which is exact on continuous crypto markets and an estimate on markets with session gaps. Each line spans the height of the leg between the two swings, so it sits inside price action and does not stretch the price scale.
Each new alternating swing starts a new set with a new unit, and the timezone_set alert fires with the unit in bars. Max Sets, two by default, decides how many sets keep their zones.
Limitations
- Far zones often disappear. Zone 34 needs 34 units of bars to arrive, and the anchor usually moves several times before then. A longer Swing Length gives fewer, bigger legs whose far zones last longer.
- Confirmation lag. Both anchors are confirmed swings, so a set appears Swing Length bars after its newer swing.
- Future zones are estimated. Zones beyond the last bar assume evenly spaced bars. On markets with gaps they drift by the length of the gap until the bars arrive.
- Time is a weak claim. Many bars pass through zones with nothing happening. The lines mark where to pay attention, not where something must occur.
- Higher timeframes need a matching chart. When reading from a higher timeframe, the chart's own period must divide it exactly, and the unit is counted in that timeframe's bars.

Frequently asked questions
Vertical lines spaced at Fibonacci multiples of a base period. Here the base period is the number of bars between the last two alternating swings.
One unit from the first swing is, by definition, the second swing, so zone 1 always lands on it.
Yes. Sequence is a comma-separated list of multiples, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 by default. Whole numbers are expected, and up to 16 are used.
One, timezone_set. It fires when a new set of zones is anchored and gives the new unit in bars.
Yes. Fib Time Zones is a closed-source premium script. It runs on Altrady's servers, so only its output reaches your chart and the code is never shared. You buy it once in the Altrady marketplace, on its own, in the Fibonacci & Gann bundle or in the Altrady Complete Suite, and it needs a paid Altrady plan to run. It is also included with your first annual Premium subscription.
Use the Get it in Altrady button on this page to open its listing in the Altrady marketplace. Once it is in your account, open the indicator picker on any chart in Altrady Charts and add Fib Time Zones like any other indicator. Its settings are in the indicator's settings panel.
