What is Session Levels?

Session Levels draws the high and low of up to three trading sessions as boxes while each session runs. The defaults are Asian from 20:00 to 00:00 UTC, London from 02:00 to 05:00 and New York from 07:00 to 10:00, each with its own name, time and colour. A box extends to the right as a reference into what comes after.

The Session Projection layer takes one session, Asian by default, and draws its high, low and midline as lines after it ends, as levels for the rest of the day to trade against. Session Ranges is on by default and Session Projection is a separate toggle.

This is a closed-source premium script. It runs on Altrady's servers, so only its output reaches your chart and its code is not published.

Components

Session Levels combines 2 tools in one script. Each one has its own switch in the settings.

  • Session Ranges. High and low range boxes for up to three configurable sessions, drawn while each session runs and extending as reference into the next. On by default.
  • Session Projection. One session's high, low and midline drawn as lines after it ends, as reference levels for the next session. The Asian range by default.

How to use Session Levels

  • The Asian range. The levels ICT readers watch for London and New York. A sweep of the Asian high or low early in London is a classic setup.
  • A break of a session range. A close beyond a session's high or low is read as the market leaving that session's balance.
  • Projected levels. After a session ends, its high, low and midline become reference prices for the next session, where traders look for reactions.
  • Comparing sessions. Three boxes side by side show which session did the work today and which was quiet.

How it works

Each session is a UTC time window you can rename and move. While a session runs, the script tracks its highest high and lowest low, and the box grows with it. A session that crosses midnight, such as the default Asian window, is handled as one session.

When the projected session ends, its high, low and midline are drawn as lines that carry forward from that point. Max Projections keeps the two most recent by default, and Max Ranges keeps five past boxes per session.

Alerts fire when a session starts and when a bar closes through a session's range high or low. The projection layer has its own alerts for a close across the projected high or low.

Limitations

  • Daylight saving is manual. All windows are in UTC. When London or New York changes its clocks, you shift the windows yourself.
  • The live box moves. While a session runs, its box grows as new highs and lows print. Only finished sessions are fixed.
  • Projection has its own window. Moving Session 1 does not move the projected session. Set Projection Session Window separately if you want them to match.
  • Coarse timeframes blur sessions. A bar longer than the session window cannot describe its range. Use timeframes well below the session length.
  • Crypto has no session open. The windows come from traditional market hours. On crypto they are a convention rather than a real open and close.
