US Annual Inflation Rose in January!

The U.S. annual inflation rate rose to 3% in January 2025, slightly higher than the 2.9% recorded in December 2024 and above the market expectation of 2.9%. 

Inflation has plateaued, with energy costs rising for the first time in six months and used car prices rebounding. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) exceeding expectations and raising concerns about potential Federal Reserve tightening.

Higher inflation could strengthen the U.S. dollar, reduce crypto's appeal as a risk asset, and prompt a shift toward traditional safe havens.

This could lead to increased volatility and downward pressure on cryptocurrency prices as markets react to evolving economic data and policy signals.

Bitcoin’s Rollercoaster Week: Bitcoin has experienced a highly dynamic week, with significant inflows and outflows recorded nearly every day. Notably, net inflows have consistently surpassed outflows, signaling sustained demand and growing interest from market participants.

Ethereum’s Quiet Trend Interrupted: In contrast, Ethereum has shown minimal activity throughout the week, staying relatively stable. However, three massive outflows were observed on February 11th, 12th, and 13th, which could suggest strategic repositioning by large holders or institutions.

These contrasting trends highlight the evolving market dynamics and investor behavior around major cryptocurrencies. The steady accumulation in Bitcoin could point to optimism ahead of key market events, while the sudden Ethereum outflows warrant close monitoring for potential impacts on price trends and market liquidity.
